Love Purple Live Gold Awards
2020 Award Winners
The purpose of the Love Purple Live Gold Awards is to acknowledge those who go above and beyond throughout the academic year.
Campus Life intimately works with 450-plus student organizations and countless individuals each day to make LSU an increasingly vibrant campus community. Our office received a total of 150 applications and nominations for our 16 categories. This number continues to grow in that the amount of applications and nominations have continued to grow over the last 5 years.
The 16 categories highlight individuals and student organizations who provide leadership for the university each and every day: leadership for roughly 400+ student organizations, for our many committees and activities and in various departments and divisions.
Be sure to check out the video as Will Wade, head coach for our fighting Tiger men’s basketball team offers a special message to all student leaders and organizations.

Louisiana State University is an interactive community in which students, faculty, and staff together strive to pursue truth, advance learning, and uphold the highest standards of performance in an academic and social environment. From accepting responsibility for our actions to holding ourselves accountable and practicing justice and compassion in human relations, these tenants remind us of what community really about – uplifting each other. We display the Commitment to Community at many events as a reminder of what this community stands for.
This year’s recipient is a student organization that proudly adheres to the tenants stated in the Commitment to Community as their mission is to serve the university, their College (of Agriculture), our community, the agriculture industry, and the world through campus involvement, service, and active citizenship. They participate in various campus events such as Admitted Student Days, Destination LSU and Fall Fest. They also travel to New Orleans each Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend to participate in weekend service projects across the city. Their work with high school students across the State of Louisiana is should also be highlighted as they coordinate more than 20 high schools visits throughout the year.
