Professor Huismann specializes in ancient and medieval philosophy, with particular interests in the metaphysics and logic of those periods. He has written papers on Aristotle’s ontology and causal concepts, culminating in his book, Aristotle on Accidental Causation (Cambridge University Press, 2024). He is currently thinking about the role of different modalities in ancient theories of nature. Before coming to LSU, he received a Ph.D in Aerospace Science from the University of Michigan, received a Ph.D in Philosophy from the University of Colorado, and taught at the University of Oklahoma. |
