Throw and catch basketball, medicine ball

Get a student to come up and play "pitch and catch". Use the basketball first to show that it doesn't take much effort to throw or catch it. Then throw the medicine ball and the results are dramatic to throw AND catch it, especially if the student isn't particularly large.
