The four-day, 400-mile round-trip tour is led by LSU Vet Med Dean Oliver Garden and reflects the school’s commitment to building strong, in-person relationships across the state—especially in rural communities.

“Our core mission is to serve the people and animals of Louisiana through teaching, healing, discovering, and protecting,” Dean Garden said. “We want to connect face-to-face with those in the northern reaches of our state, particularly those serving rural Louisiana. I look forward to strengthening these partnerships and working together to provide the best veterinary medicine and biomedical research possible for all of Louisiana. All things are possible when we seek out opportunities and work together to achieve our best.”

LSU School of Veterinary Medicine is one of only 33 veterinary schools in the United States and the only one in Louisiana. The school is dedicated to improving the lives of people and animals through education, research, and service.
