Creating Solutions for Cancer Patients
As part of its landmark commitment to revolutionize cancer research, treatment, and outcomes in Louisiana, LCMC Health gave $5 million to establish a cancer-focused research fund directed by the LSU president and with the potential to support research on all LSU campuses across the state.

Augusto Ochoa, MD, is the Chair of the Department of Interdisciplinary Oncology, a professor of Pediatrics and holds the Al Copeland/Cancer Crusaders Chair in Neuroendocrine Cancer at LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine. He is also the Deputy Director of the LSU Health-LCMC Cancer Center.
- LSU and LCMC Health are collaborating to finalize a competitive application process through which LSU faculty will apply for funding to advance cancer-related research.
