About 

Mission

The LGBTQ+ Faculty and Staff Caucus seeks to (1) serve the special needs of LGBTQ+ employees by promoting understanding of LGBTQ+ concerns and providing assistance, education, and social interaction for the employees; and (2) provide for LGBTQ+ employees and students a proactive organization capable of reviewing complaints, addressing problems, and, when necessary, informing the University administration of these concerns by making recommendations as required to resolve these issues.

Nicollette D Headshot

Nicollette Davis, President

Nicollette Davis (she/her) is the librarian for Kinesiology, Social Work, and Health Sciences at LSU. She provides research, instruction and support to faculty, staff, and students. Additionally, she's an adjunct instructor with the School of Information Studies. She was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA and earned her MLIS from LSU in 2018. In 2023, she was selected as an American Library Association Emerging Leader and in 2024 she was named a Mover and Shaker by Library Journal. Outside of work, Nicollette enjoys interior decorating, the Golden Girls sitcom, performing at karaoke, and listening to music.

Lauren Lay, Secretary

Lauren Lay (she/her) is the Mass Communication librarian at LSU, where she provides instruction and research assistance to students and faculty. She earned her MLIS from the University of Oklahoma in the spring of 2022, then moved to Baton Rouge shortly after. When she’s not working, Lauren enjoys reading, Latin style dancing, anime, and D&D.

Seth Knievel

Seth Knievel, Graduate Representative

Seth Knievel (he/him) is a queer artist and archivist concurrently working on his PhD in Communication Studies and his MLIS. His work broadly considers how photographic archives contribute to queer history and worldmaking. His work has been featured in museum exhibitions, public lectures, and staged performances. Most recently, Knievel wrote and directed Yearning: A Sapphic Adaptation of The Great Gatsby, featured in the HopKins Black Box theatre on the LSU campus in February 2024. He works closely with non-profits around the south, archiving and amplifying the unique queer history of the region.
