Well Log & Core Repository

The Well Log & Core Repository serves as Louisiana's premier archive of subsurface geological information. Combining a Well Log Library of more than 50,000 well logs with an extensive collection of rock cores from across the Gulf Coast region, the repository provides researchers and professionals with access to the data and samples needed to study Louisiana's geology and natural resources.

By preserving these unique records and physical specimens, the Louisiana Geological Survey supports research, exploration, education, and informed decision-making related to energy resources, groundwater, environmental systems, and the state's geologic framework.
