Passport to Explore is a site that curates science outreach events for K-12th grade
explorers led by individuals and units within the LSU community, as well as some community
events in the Baton Rouge area.

Tulane, Mississippi River Delta Transition Initiative (MissDelta) | Tulane University’s BATS Program provides fifth through seventh grade boys with the
opportunity to meet and work with role models in Science, Technology, Engineering,
and Mathematics (STEM) fields. Workshops developed and offered by Tulane faculty and
Tulane student teams encourage boys to inquire, investigate, and discover in a science
and engineering environment. Join us for hands-on learning and fun with all kinds of scientists and engineers at Tulane. Participants will visit three different labs where they will do workshops in STEM fields. Lunch (pizza), snacks, and a t-shirt will be provided. Cost is $10. |

4 through 6 to apply to LSU's Kids' Day at the Museum. Participants will meet new, like-minded friends, get a behind-the-scenes tour of the LSU Museum of Natural Science, learn from LSU College of Science student organizations through hands-on science activities, AND snack and chat with some of LSU's top scientists. Earth, Our Laboratory — a day of fun earth science activities led by some of LSU's
top geologists! Learn how to identify rock and mineral samples, view rocks and minerals under microscopes and ultraviolet light, lunch and chat with LSU scientists and students, and explore our geology research labs. Students must be accepted to participate. |

LSU Museum of Natural Science | “Special Saturdays” at the LSU Museum of Natural Science is a STEM program that focuses
on introducing children and their parents to the world of natural science. We focus
on a specific topic and invite experts from within the LSU research community to give

where you can gaze through telescopes at the Moon, planets, and countless stars. Come for the stars, stay for the wonder. Free and family friendly. If the day comes and the weather is mostly cloudy, there will not be any observing, as there will not be any celestial body to see. Please note: This event is not wheelchair accessible. |

| October 31, 2026 | LSU College of Science | Super Science Saturday is a free public outreach and science education event for kindergarten
to 12th-grade students, parents, and anyone interested in seeing science in action!
The event features interactive, hands-on science stations hosted by LSU departments, campus organizations, and local industry partners. Past participants include Albemarle, BASF, Dow, ExxonMobil, the Greater Baton Rouge Industry Alliance, the LSU College of Science, the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO), the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), and the Our Lady of the Lake College Chemistry Department. |
