The Cohort will begin on-boarding activities in workshops and activities in spring 2024 and will begin research activities in summer 2024.

Students from groups underrepresented in graduate education, including low-income and first-generation students

- $2,800 Research stipend for summer research internship
- Advisement and guidance leading to bachelorette graduation and planning for post-graduation plans

Application Process Details
The application is submitted online via a customized LSU McNair AwardSpring™ site. There, you can start, stop, and finish the application at any time using your login and password. The application consists of the following:
- Basic academic information
- Eligibility information
- Three candidate evaluations; at least one must be a faculty member - AwardSpring™ Automates this using your recommender's emails
- Three short response essays
A note on need determination:
- Need is a key criteria in determining program eligibility. Need is determined by the highest level of educational attainment of an applicant's parent(s)/guardian(s) and the applicant's family's taxable income. Candidates give permission for the LSU McNair Program to obtain family financial information from the LSU Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships
