All family members of LSU students are invited to campus for a weekend of activities, programs, and the chance to see the LSU Tigers take on the McNeese State University Cowboys under the lights of Tiger Stadium. Family Weekend allows parents and families to:

  • Spend valuable time with your Tiger
  • Explore campus, your Tiger's "home away from home"
  • Experience LSU traditions

Registration

Registration will be required to participate in Family Weekend activities. 

August 16
The deadline to join the LSU Family Association in order to be eligible for priority registration for Family Weekend is Sunday, August 16.
August 19
Priority registration for Family Association members will open on Wednesday, August 19 at 10 a.m. CT. All Family Association members will receive an email on August 19 with the link to register and pay for their family members to attend Family Weekend. 
August 26
Registration will open to all LSU families on Wednesday, August 26 at 10 a.m. CT.
September 21
Registration for all families will close on Monday, September 21 at 4:30 p.m. CT, or when maximum capacity is reached, whichever comes first. 

Package Details & Pricing

Purple Package
Cost: $60 per family member and $60 per LSU student

Individual family members will have access to Family Weekend signature events on Friday and Saturday. These events include the Bengal Block Party on Friday (no food included) and the Family Weekend Tailgate on Saturday (includes access to the all-you-care-to-eat buffet).

Gold Package
Cost: $90 per family member and $90 per LSU student

Individual family members will have access to Family Weekend signature events for the entire weekend. These events include the Bengal Block Party on Friday (no food included), the Family Weekend Tailgate on Saturday (includes access to the all-you-care-to-eat buffet), and Jazz Brunch on Sunday (includes access to the all-you-care-to-eat buffet). The two options for time slots for the Jazz Brunch on Sunday, October 4 are 9–10:30 a.m. and 12–1:30 p.m. *This package is expected to sell out very quickly.

Please note:

  • You must register and pay for all family members attending Family Weekend signature events, including your LSU student.
  • There is no charge for children ages 5 and under to attend Family Weekend, but they must be listed on your registration form, so they will have a pass and lanyard to access the events.
  • Only registered family members will be allowed access to Family Weekend Events.
  • Your Family Weekend registration fee does not include football tickets, as those must be purchased separately after you complete your Family Weekend registration. For more information about ticket prices and policies, please visit our Football Tickets page.
  • All payments for LSU Family Weekend will be made using a credit card on the registration form. There is a 5% processing fee for all transactions.
  • Registrations are non-refundable.

The tentative schedule for Family Weekend 2026 is below. More details and events will be added as Family Weekend approaches.

Family Weekend Check-In
3–6 p.m.
2nd Floor, Barnes & Noble at LSU Bookstore

Beat the check-in rush and pick up your Family Weekend materials early! At check-in, registered participants will receive access badges, souvenirs, and any pre-ordered t-shirts. Only one person per group needs to check in to collect materials for all pre-registered family members, and students may check in on behalf of their families.

Registered participants can stop by anytime during the day to pick up Family Weekend materials, including access badges, souvenirs, and any pre-ordered t-shirts, before attending their first event. Bengal Block Party
5:30–8:30 p.m.

*Must be registered for the Purple or Gold Package in order to attend. 

Join us for our signature event to officially kick off Family Weekend! There will be games, music, and plenty of fun for the whole family. Food trucks will be available to purchase snacks on your own. Registrants can also bring in outside food or beverages. No food is included in the cost of your registration.

Performances by the Tiger Girls, LSU Cheerleaders, and featured guest speakers will begin at 6 p.m. in front of the Memorial Tower. 

Our Bengal Block Party will take place outdoors, so please dress accordingly.

Family Association Game Night*

Family Association members are invited to join us for a night of friendly competition, prizes, and connection! No pre-registration is required – just show up ready to play and meet fellow LSU families!

Family Weekend Check-In
11 a.m.–4 p.m.
2nd Floor, Barnes & Noble at LSU Bookstore

Arriving on Saturday? Registered participants can visit the second floor of the Barnes & Noble at LSU Bookstore to pick up your Family Weekend materials, including access badges, souvenirs , and t-shirts (if you pre-ordered them) prior to the Tailgate. Access badges are required for entry into the Family Weekend Tailgate. 

Only one person per group needs to check in to collect materials for all pre-registered family members, and students may check in on behalf of their families.

Family Weekend Tailgate
2–5 p.m.
LSU Quad
*Must be registered for the Purple or Gold Package in order to attend. Access badge required for entry. 

Tailgating is an LSU Tradition! Join us for the biggest tailgate in the Quad (*new location for 2026) with food, live music, special appearances, inflatables, a photo booth, face painting, cornhole tournament, and more! Look for our white tents, Family Weekend flags, and balloons. Even if you are not attending the football game, you are welcome to join the fun and attend the tailgate as long as you are pre-registered for the purple or gold package. Family Weekend Cornhole Tournament
2 p.m.
LSU Quad

Only families registered for the Family Weekend Tailgate are eligible to participate in the Cornhole Tournament. Teams consist of two people.

On-site registration for the Family Weekend Cornhole Tournament will be at the Cornhole Tent in the Quad starting at 2 p.m. The tournament will be limited to the first 24 teams for a single elimination bracket. The tournament will begin at 2:30 p.m.. Matches will be determined by a blind draw. Each match cannot exceed 20 minutes. 

Free play on cornhole boards will be available prior to the tournament beginning and as boards become open! 

PMAC Fan Zone
1:45–5:45 p.m.
Pete Maravich Assembly Center (PMAC)

The PMAC will be open to the public with access to restrooms and is a great place for fans to take a break from the heat. The Tiger Band will perform in the PMAC after the Victory Hill Parade. This event is sponsored by Bud Light.

Definitely! Family Weekend is for everyone to enjoy, no matter their age.

There is no charge for children ages 5 and under to attend Family Weekend, but they must be listed on your registration form, so they receive an access badge. 

Arrival, Parking, & Other

If you want to take full advantage of the opportunities available throughout the weekend, we encourage you to arrive by Friday morning (October 2). We will host educational sessions, meet-and-greets, and more throughout Friday. The tailgate and football game will be held on Saturday, and the weekend will culminate with a Jazz Brunch on Sunday. More details about the Family Weekend 2026 schedule will be posted on our schedule of events as they become available. 

Families are responsible for securing their own lodging, as accommodations are not included in Family Weekend registration, and LSU does not hold reserved blocks of rooms. We encourage you to book your hotel as soon as possible, as rooms in Baton Rouge fill quickly for football weekends. To view additional lodging options in the Baton Rouge area, click here. 

Stay tuned for more details! All registered families will also receive an email with parking details prior to Family Weekend. Please note that parking on Saturday is controlled by the LSU Athletic Department.

Yes, students will need to know the name of the primary registered contact and may pick up the packet during check-in.

You are required to wear your access badge at each Family Weekend signature event (Bengal Block Party, Family Weekend Tailgate, Jazz Brunch). Access badges will be provided at Check-In.
