Accessibility Parking
LSU provides accessible parking options for students, employees, and visitors with mobility-related needs.
ADA Permit - For students and employees with a valid state-issued disability placard or license plate.
Temporary Medical - For students and employees with a temporary mobility-related condition lasting less than three months.
Visitor Accessible Parking - For individuals visiting LSU who have a state-issued disability placard or license plate.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Current LSU students and employees with a valid state-issued disability placard or license plate may register for an LSU ADA permit.
An ADA permit is obtained instead of a regular student or employee parking permit. You do not need to purchase another permit before applying.
HOW TO REGISTER:

Complete the ADA Registration Form.

Submit your state-issued disability credential documentation.

Submit your driver’s license and Mobility ID or corresponding documentation.

Parking & Transportation Services will verify your information and issue the appropriate ADA permit.

IMPORTANT: To park in an ADA-designated space, you must have a valid LSU ADA permit and properly display your valid state-issued disability placard or license plate.
PERMIT EXPIRATION
The LSU ADA permit is tied to the expiration date of the state-issued disability credential.
If the state credential expires before August 14, 2027, ADA parking access will be suspended until updated credentials are provided. Individuals who do not renew their state credential must exchange the ADA permit for a permit appropriate to their LSU classification.
Temporary Medical parking is available to LSU students and employees with a mobility-related condition expected to last less than three months.
HOW TO APPLY:
- Complete the Temporary Medical Request Form.
- Attach documentation from a physician or qualified medical provider.
- Include the anticipated length of the accommodation.

IMPORTANT RESTRICTIONS
- Temporary Medical parking may be approved for no more than three months.
- Temporary Medical permits are not valid in B lots.
- A Temporary Medical permit does not authorize parking in an ADA space unless a valid state-issued disability placard or license plate is displayed.
- Approval does not guarantee that a Temporary Medical space will be available.
- When Temporary Medical spaces are unavailable, users must park in their assigned zone or use Park & Geaux.
Visitors with a valid state-issued disability placard or license plate may use designated accessible visitor parking spaces.
The state-issued credential must be properly displayed. Applicable visitor parking fees and event restrictions still apply.

LSU Paratransit provides accessible transportation for eligible students and employees traveling between campus parking areas and university destinations.
Paratransit is separate from an ADA or Temporary Medical parking permit. Depending on the individual’s needs, the services may be used separately or together.
