Towing Policy

Parking on campus is a privilege that helps ensure accessibility, safety, and efficient use of limited space. As part of LSU’s continued effort to support a safe and well-managed campus environment, enforcement measures will now include vehicle towing for specific parking violations.

Towing services will be handled by an authorized third-party contractor:

  • Parking in ADA-designated spaces without a valid state-issued placard or permit
  • Obstructing traffic flow or parked in a manner that poses a safety concern

Unauthorized Parking Locations:

  • Parked outside designated permit zones
  • Use of reserved or event spaces without proper authorization

Parking on Lawn/Grass:

  • Vehicles found parked on grassy areas or unpaved surfaces are subject to immediate towing

Abandoned or Unauthorized Vehicles:

  • Parking of motor homes, trailers or boats overnight without prior written approval from Parking & Transportation Services is prohibited. These vehicles may be towed at the owner’s expense.
  • Vehicles that appear inoperable, lack valid license plates or remain parked in the same location for an extended period without authorization may also be towed without notice.
