Brian Gage, a standout marketing major at the E. J. Ourso College of Business, exemplifies innovation and a pursuit of excellence.

With an innate talent for creativity and a genuine passion for marketing, Brian has not only excelled academically but has also left an indelible mark on the university community through his leadership and involvement.

"What I love most about being a marketing major is the ability to create different promotional and creative aspects," Brian shared in an interview, highlighting his enthusiasm for the field. "I feel like it's a good outlet to express myself and showcase my creative side."

Identifying a pressing challenge in the marketing industry—stagnation and homogeneity—Brian is determined to inject fresh perspectives and innovative ideas into the field. "I plan to bring out new ideas, try new things, test the limits, and push the envelope," he asserts, underscoring his commitment to revitalizing marketing strategies and fostering creativity.

Looking ahead, Brian envisions a future in the entertainment industry, where he aspires to merge his childhood passions with his professional pursuits. "Ideally, I hope to work with actors and musicians, promoting their brands and working with them one-on-one to help bring their creative brand to life," articulating his vision for his career trajectory.

As a first-generation college student, Brian is dedicated to making an impact on the university community beyond his academic achievements. As he navigated the complexities of campus life, his passion for leadership and mentorship flourished, particularly in supporting first-year and first-generation students. Recognizing the value of peer support, he assumed pivotal roles within several organizations, including the LSU Student Government, Student Ambassadors, and Student Philanthropy Council. Brian also contributed to the Office of Enrollment Management, leading tours, providing admissions information, and organizing diversity-related events, leaving a lasting imprint on the university community. "There's just something special about helping foster that growth that holds a special place in my heart," he shares, underscoring his dedication to empowering others and fostering a sense of belonging.

For first-year students embarking on their own academic journeys, Brian offers sage advice,

"Be yourself but also push the envelope. Keep looking to better yourself and keep working to push yourself to the next level. But at the end of the day, stay true to yourself and stay true to who you are."

Brian Gage stands out as a driven, creative force within the Ourso College and the broader LSU community. With a passion for innovation and a dedication to mentorship, he embodies the ethos of leadership and service. As he looks toward the future, his commitment to pushing boundaries and fostering growth promises to leave a lasting impact on the marketing industry and those he encounters along the way.
